Down Payment Assistance Program
The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority (GRTHA) has 2011
Down Payment Assistance available for applicants with moderate
to low incomes. Although the budget for Tribally funded Down
Payment Assistance has been committed for 2011, HUD funds may
be available for qualified Tribal applicants whose gross household
income either meets, or is less than the guidelines below:

The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is accepting applications for
Rental Housing Units in Grand Ronde
1-5 bedroom sized units, many upgrades, parkingstorage close to Tribal
services.
The units include washerdryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, in-floor radiant
heat, private patio and great views. If you work for the Tribe or casino, you
pay no State Income Tax!
The following screening criteria is required for the Market Rate Units:
Credit history, landlord history, criminal history, income (at least 3 times
monthly rent). One adult member of the household must be an enrolled
CTGR Tribal member.
HUD assisted rental applicants must meet low-income and other federal
requirements.

Attention Parents and primary caregivers of Grand Ronde
children with disabilities, special needs, or extra challenges:
We are creating a support group for parents and caregivers
of Grand Ronde children with special needs. We will first
begin an e-mail and telephone contact list and later we will
be coordinating meetings with the group.
If your child, grandchild, foster child, etc. has extra chal
lenges (medically, emotionally, or developmentaHy) and you
would like to collaborate and share resources with other

Want a copy, or several copies?
Want to see if a photo that was taken but not printed in Smoke
Signals because of space limitations might be something you'd like
hanging on your living room wall?
Tribal members can order either 8-by-10 or 5-by-7 inch copies of photos
taken by Smoke Signals staff members regardless of if they were published
in the newspaper. Charge is $1 for each print ordered.
Reprint orders must be pre-paid with a check made out to Smoke Sig
nals. A photo reprint order form is available in the Publications Office
of the Tribe's Governance Building in Grand Ronde, or can be mailed
upon request. All photos contained in Smoke Signals' current archive
are available for purchase, but people interested in going through the
archive must make an appointment to review photos for possible pur
chase. No rush orders will be permitted and requestors must allow 30
days for delivery. Requestors must be Tribal members.
In addition, reprint requestors must agree that the reprint is for
personal use only, and not for use in an ad, or for commercial, political
or promotional purposes.
Smoke Signals reserves the right to decline a reprint request.

201 1 marks the 9th year of Trading at the River. This is one Is very special. We will gather on the banks of the Yamhill
River at Grand Ronde, Oregon where ONABEN was born two decades ago.
We have much to celebrate about our past and much to talk about for our future. Like the historic gatherings that
occurred here and in many places among the traders of this region. Trading at the River is a place where connections
are made, business-to-business, tribe-to-tribe, and from past to present.
The 9th annual Trading at the River conference will include:
An intensive Business Development Conference with community discussions, workshops, symposiums, and
celebrations.
A Trading at the River marketplace of ideas, products, and services - the famous traditional gathering of
Indianpreneurs.
A gathering of emerging and established Native CDFI's convened by the newly established Pacific
Northwest Native Capital Development Peer Group which will explore ways of generating new forms of capital to
support Native entrepeneurship and tribal-individual joint ventures.
The kick off for Innovations In Indianpreneurship 2012 - a biennial business plan competition and business
showcase.
A Founders recognition luncheon that will highlight the last 20 years of tribal economic development.
