Each year 1,000 students receive a Gates Millennium Scholar ship to cover 100 percent of their unmet need for the college of their choice. Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply: Are African American, American IndianAlaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American; Have at least a 3.3 high school GPA at time of application, or have earned a GED; Will enroll for the first time at a U.S. located, accredited college or university in the fall of 2011 as a full-time, degree-seeking, first year student (with the exception of students pursuing a high school diploma while concurrently enrolled). First-time college enrollees can also be GED recipients; Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities; Meet the federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Oregon Community Fund scholarships Applications are now being accepted for the OCF Verl & Dorothy Miller Native American Vocational and Howard Vollum American Indian Schol arships. The Miller Scholarships are for Native American residents of Oregon who are seeking vocational training or certification. The Vollum Scholarships are for Native American residents of Clackamas, Multnomah or Washington counties in Oregon or Clark County in Washington, who are seeking a post-secondary degree in science, computer science, engineering or math. Intertribal Timber Council Scholarships Applications are now being accepted for the ITC Truman D. Picard Scholarship Program to support Native American students pursuing a higher education in Natural Resources.
