Gates Millennium Scholarship
The 2011 Gates Millennium Scholarship application process is now
open. Each year 1,000 students receive a Gates Millennium Scholar
ship to cover 100 percent of their unmet need for the college of their
choice. Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:
Are African American, American IndianAlaska Native, Asian Pacific
Islander American or Hispanic American;
Have at least a 3.3 high school GPA at time of application, or have
earned a GED;
Will enroll for the first time at a U.S. located, accredited college or
university in the fall of 2011 as a full-time, degree-seeking, first
year student (with the exception of students pursuing a high school
diploma while concurrently enrolled). First-time college enrollees
can also be GED recipients;
Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in
community service, extracurricular or other activities;
Meet the federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.

Oregon Community Fund scholarships
Applications are now being accepted for the OCF Verl & Dorothy Miller
Native American Vocational and Howard Vollum American Indian Schol
arships. The Miller Scholarships are for Native American residents of
Oregon who are seeking vocational training or certification. The Vollum
Scholarships are for Native American residents of Clackamas, Multnomah
or Washington counties in Oregon or Clark County in Washington, who are
seeking a post-secondary degree in science, computer science, engineering
or math. The 2011 deadline is March 1 for both scholarships. Please visit

Intertribal Timber Council Scholarships
Applications are now being accepted for the ITC Truman D. Picard
Scholarship Program to support Native American students pursuing
a higher education in Natural Resources. Award amounts are $2,000
for college students and $1,500 for graduating high school seniors.
The 2011 deadline is March 18. Please visit http:itcnet.org for more

CTGR Higher Education Program
Applications are now available online for all CTGR Higher Edu
cation programs. Visit the Tribal Web page at www.grandronde.
orgdeptseducation to learn more about the various funding pro
grams. Call Education at 1-800-422-0232, ext. 2275, if you need assistance
determining which program application to submit.

Chemeketa Foundation scholarships
Chemeketa Community College is now accepting applications
for their Winter 2011 Foundation Scholarships. The application
deadline is Dec. 17. Please visit the Financial Aid tab on your
mychemeketa page to apply. New students need to register with
Chemeketa before they can apply. Please contact the Tribal Schol

OSAC Scholarships
The Oregon Student Assistance Commission is now accepting applications
for the 201 1 process. OSAC administers more than 400 scholarships through
its single application for Oregon students. Students who are members of
Oregon Tribes and live out of state are also eligible to apply if they plan on
attending college in Oregon. Visit http:getcollegefunds.orgeApp.html to ap
ply. This application has an early bird deadline of Feb. 16, 2011, and a final
deadline of March 1. Early bird applicants are entered into a $500 scholarship
drawing just for turning their application in early.

Must not owe a debt to the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde on behalf of Edu

Cannot have been awarded a computer system or laptop through a previous Tribal
Higher Education drawing
Eligible applicant's names that are received by Thursday, January 13, 2011 will be
placed in a pool and selected in a random drawing. The random drawing will take
place on Friday, January 14, 2011.
