Political hopefuls hava started visiting tha Grand Ronda Tribal Council as the
November general election draws nearer. Above, Kathy Roth, a candidate
for Oregon City Commissioner, talks with Tribal Chairwoman Cheryle A.
Kennedy and other Tribal Council members on Tuesday, July 20. Roth touted
her Native connections, being married to Standing Rock Sioux member.
Below, Cheryl Myers, a candidate for state representative out of Clackamas
County, visited and Is pictured with Tribal member and Tribal lobbyist Justin
Martin. Both candidates visited the Tribe, seeking support In their respective
campaigns for public office.

Tribal member Jake McKnlght picks up opponent Damaso Perlera as
the two compete for the catch weight superfight title during the Caged
Combat event at Spirit Mountain Casino on Saturday, July 1 0. McKnlght
was the winner by unanimous decision.
Tribal members win bouts at casino
Tribal members Jake McKnight and Denny Linton won their bouts at
the mixed martial arts event held Saturday, July 10, at Spirit Mountain
Casino.
Linton, 19, fought Frankie Mendez in the bantamweight amateur title
bout and won at the 1 minute 32 second mark of the first round on a
technical submission.
McKnight, 32, who is the Tribe's Forest Patrol Officer, fought Damaso
Periera in the catchweight super title fight and won a unanimous deci
sion after three rounds of action. D
