D Museum receives $75,000 grant to re-install gallery Willamette University's Hallie Ford Museum of Art was awarded a $75,000 Access to Artistic Excellence grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support re-installation of the Confeder ated Tribes of Grand Ronde Gallery. The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde endowed the museum's Native American gallery, which exhibits a sampling of Pacific North west Indian basket weaving traditions, in 1999. This is the largest federal grant the Hallie Ford Museum of Art has received and work will include new lighting, casework, colors and interpretation, conservation of a number of objects, public programs and production of a gallery guide. "We are thrilled to receive an NEA grant and look forward to completing the renovation of the gallery, which houses our collec tion of Native American art, by next spring," said John Olbrantz, director of the Hallie Ford Museum of Art. The Grand Ronde Gallery is the fourth and final permanent gal lery at the museum slated for renovation. D Ad created by George Valdez Workshop will teach suicide intervention skills Tribal Youth Prevention and Behavioral Health programs are host ing a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skill Training on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 11-12, at the Tribal Community Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided each day. The workshop is designed to teach skills to competently and confiden tially intervene with youth at risk of suicide. It prepares youth gate keepers to integrate principles of intervention into daily practice.
