Time Faculty Night
Chemi-keta Community College will hold it second annual Part-Time
Faculty Night to Network! from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in Building
34 at the college' Salem location, 4000 Lancaster Drive N.E.
The event will include opportunities to meet with faculty, associate deans
and program directors, the ability to learn about community college teach
ing and to obtain information about the college application process.

Summer Business Institute 2010
June 21-24, 2010
The Summer Business Institute is an opportunity for high school
students to explore the world of business with Portland State busi
ness faculty and local business leaders. The institute will focus on
diversity within the business community and business practices
here in Oregon. The institute is designed for students of color and
those with culturally diverse backgrounds. Earn one college credit.

K-5 201 0 Summer Program for
Tribal and Native American Youth
Applications for K-5 students interested in participating in the
2010 Summer Program can now be picked up at the Youth Education
Building.
Completed applications will be accepted at Youth Education be
ginning at 8 a.m. Monday, May 3. Incomplete applications will not
be accepted. A checklist of required documentation that needs to be
included with the completed application will bo attached to the ap
plication form.
Eligibility requirements, as stated through the Child Care Develop
ment Fund Grant, states that parent(s)guardtan(s) must be in school,
working or in a training program during operational hours for a youth
to participate.
The program will begin on Monday, June 7, and end in mid-August.
At this time, space is limited. A waiting list will be created for those
applicants who are not awarded one of the limited open spaces.
The program is open to Tribal, Descendant and Native American
students, with a preference given to enrolled CTGR youth.

B. Davos Scholarship
DEADLINE: May 28 AWARD VALUE: $1,000
This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well
as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution.
There is no age restriction.
Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year
and next.
This is not an academic scholarship, but we would like to know your
current academic standing.
Application procedure: To apply for this scholarship you will need to
write an essay of less than 1,000 words on the topic below:
Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss
whether you believe you possess some or all of these qualities, and describe
an experience where you developed andor demonstrated some or all of
these traits.

Club
Hello my name is Jeremy Bailey I'm the president
of the newly formed N.W. Native Club at Cheme
keta Community College and I'm also a Grand
Ronde Tribal member and I'm encouraging Native
students to stop by the Multicultural Center and
introduce themselves to me. The mission is to en
hance the intellectual, social, cultural and eco
nomic values of our Native students. The many
contributions of the Native community needs to be
shared with our campus community.

FULL-TIME STUDENT
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All full-time students are required to file the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FASFA) each year. A copy of the FASFA and
Student Aid Report (SAR) must be submitted to the Tribal Education
Program.
2. All full-time students are responsible for having their grade reports
sent to the Higher Education Programs upon completion of each
termsemester.
3. All full-time students must maintain a 2.00 GPA and successfully
complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per termsemester to remain
eligible for funding.
4. Full-time students who do not meet the minimum academic re
quirements will be placed on academic PROBATION. Students who
are placed on PROBATIONARY STATUS will not be awarded the
following term until they have provided a copy of their grade report
transcript.
NO AWARD WILL BE MADE UNTIL GRADE REPORT
TRANSCRIPTS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED.
5. Failure to meet the minimum academic requirements during the
probationary termsemester will result in SUSPENSION.
6. Full-time students must notify the Higher Education Programs of
address, telephone and e-mail changes as soon as they occur.
9. Each year full-time students must sign a "Release of Information"
form allowing correspondence with the school of attendance regarding
financial aid, educational budget, attendance and grade reports.
10. Students who withdraw or do not complete a termsemester will
be required to reimburse the Higher Education Programs for funding
received for the termsemester.
