Dear Smoke Signals:
The Lighthouse Recovery Church in Grand Ronde would like to extend our
thanks for use of the Tribal gym for our annual Harvest Party on Oct. 31.
The party was well attended by many families throughout the commu
nity. The Lighthouse encourages positive fellowship in Jesus Christ's name and
is open to anyone. We hope to have the opportunity to offer further family
and community activities in the future, and your participation is needed to
experience the joy of Jesus Christ and our almighty father, God.
Look to your positive neighbors and friends for healing and growth. Look
to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and the ability to forgive.
Experience the word of the Almighty and our Lord Jesus firsthand. Join us
on Sundays at 9:45 and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. for joyous worship and spiritual
growth at 24702 Grand Ronde Road.

Dear Smoke Signals:
I recently received my GED, and I would like to
let everyone in my family know. The only way I
can do that without putting all my per capita on
my VAC account is to phone them all, so I would
like to send this certificate to the Tribe as well as
my family for being there for me.
So, I write and say first and foremost:
Thank you very much Joanne Carr for never
giving up and for always pushing me to succeed.
Thank you to my two aunts, Joyce Kirk and
Linda Olson, for telling me all the time that I
need to get my GED and always pushing me to
succeed as well.
And last, but definitely not least, thank you to
my Tribe for pushing Tribal members to further their educational goals
and for being there for me when I thought I could do it all on my own.
