Dear Smoke Signals:
We from the Lakota Oyate Ki (Native Culture Club) here at the Oregon
State Prison would like to express our thanks to the Confederated Tribes of
Grand Ronde for supporting our annual powwow by donating 100 pounds
of salmon.
Thank you to the Forestry Department and to Andrew Freeman for ar
ranging the delivery of salmon to the prison. It helped make our powwow
a great success.

Lakota Club
Cultural Resources slates 'Weave In'
The Tribe's Cultural Resources Department will hold a three-day
"Weave In" for all levels of basket weavers from Friday, Dec. 4,
through Sunday, Dec. 6.
There will be many projects to choose from and students can
weave Christmas presents, finish a project they started years ago
or start something new.
Classes will start at 9 a.m. daily and last until participants are
done. Classes will be held in Education Room 207.

Tribal offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 23, in observance of Restora
tion Day. Offices also will be closing on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at noon
and closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, in observance
of Thanksgiving.
