Free MBA Program at
Wake Forest University
The Master of Art in Management program is designed specifically for
liberal arts majors only. The MA degree program is a 10-month intense
study of the basic functional areas of business. After graduation and
working for approximately two years, all MA graduates are eligible to
apply to Wake Forest as part of the MAMBA joint degree program and
get the MBA in one year. The new Dean, Steve Reinemund, has created a
new scholarship for diverse students pursuing the MA degree called the
Corporate Fellowship.
The Corporate Fellowship provides full tuition and a $21,000 stipend
to cover living expenses. Additionally, each Corporate Fellow will partici
pate in a practicum. The practicum has two components: educational and
professional development. Each student will be- assigned a mentor who
is a high level executive with their sponsor corporation. The mentor will
oversee an educational project covering four of the functional areas of
business using their own corporation as the subject.
For more information, contact Derrick S. Boone, Ph.D., Associate Profes

Oregon launches toll-free
Adult Learner Resource Line
The state of Oregon has launched a toll-free Adult Learner Resource Line
(1-877-84U-4NOW or 1-877-848-4669) and Web site (www.OregonOpportuni
ties.gov) for Oregonians interested in returning to college, or enrolling for the
first time. Funded through a $1.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of
Education, the Adult Learner Line is specifically for Oregonians ages 25 and
older who are interested in going to college, but need some help and direction
on how to enroll, seek financial aid and generally navigate the process. The
Adult Learner Line and Web site are just one component of the College Access
Challenge Grant Program funded last year through the federal government,
which is directed at increasing awareness of and access to postsecondary
education in Oregon.
The Adult Learner Line and Web site are supplemented by other Oregon
based resources, such as OSAC's financial aid Web site, www.GetCollegeFunds.
org, which helps Oregonians understand the types of aid available to them,
deadlines for applying and other college-related information.
