The new Elders' Activity Cen
ter opened in November and has
been serving meals to Tribal El
ders four days a week, Tuesday
through Friday.
In March, the center started
a craft day that usually starts
at 10 a.m. Tuesdays. Tribal El
der Gladys Hobbs accepted the
craft coordinator duties. The
first project was making sweat
shirt jackets, an idea presented
and instructed by
Tribal Elder Crystal
Thomas.
Future projects
will include canning
elk and venison,
wood carving and
preparing for the
upcoming Elders
Honor Day in July.
The center had a successful
Spaghetti Feed and Silent Auc
tion at the Community Center.
Thank you to everyone who at
tended. On March 20, the Elder bus
went to Three Rivers Casino in
Florence for the "Elders Honor
Day" co-hosted by the Confed
erated Tribes of Coos, Lower
Umpqua & Siuslaw Indians and
the Coquille Tribe. All had a good
time. H
