CultuiraD Resources slates October classes The Tribe's Cultural Resources Department has scheduled several classes in October in Grand Ronde, Portland and Eugene. The classes are: Grand Ronde: Beginning Regalia: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 5 and 12. Tribal members Colleen Payne and Dian Smith will teach the class and stu dents can pick from one of two projects. Traditional Paint and Pigments: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 7, 14 and 21 in Education Room 207. Carved Paint Brush: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, 11, 18 and 25 in Education Room 207. Chinuk Wawa starts Sept. 29 every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Education Room 207. Eugene Traditional Paint and Pigments: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 8, 15 and 22. ! Carved Paint Brush: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, 12 and 19 and Dec. 3. Portland Woven Fishing Net and Cordage: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. Participants need to bring white string and a knife. C Zr As part of an effort to create a new video to celebrate the Tribe's 25th Restoration in November, a film crew from OMAC Advertising will be at the Governance Center between 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24. Tribal members are invited to stop in and share their memories of the Restoration effort or talk about what Restoration means to them and the future of the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde. There is no schedule and Tribal members will be filmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Tribal member comments will be filmed and used as part of the 25th Restoration video being created by the Public AffairsPublications depart ments to be shown and distributed at the Nov. 22 Restoration celebration at Spirit Mountain Casino. B Restoration Committee seeks 'walking on' photos The 25th Restoration Celebration Committee is seeking pictures of Tribal members who have walked on since Nov. 22, 2003, the 20th Restoration. The pictures of Tribal members who have walked on will be shown in a slideshow during the 25th Restoration celebration scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, at Spirit Mountain Casino. Tribal families that would like to honor their Tribal member loved ones who have walked on should submit a picture to Publications Coordinator Dean Rhodes before Nov. 1. Photos can either be mailed to Rhodes at 9615 Grand Ronde Road, Grand Ronde, OR 97347, or e-mailed to dean.rhodesgrandronde.org. If you would like the photo returned, please include a note expressing that wish. Submission of photos is voluntary and is meant as a way to honor Tribal members who have walked on since the 20th Restoration celebration. For more information, call Rhodes at 503-879-1463. B Transportation to Grand Rondo Transportation to Grand Ronde will be on Sept. 19 for medical and dental appointments or enrollment cards. Please call Lisa Archuleta at 503-235-4230. They will leave the Portland office at 8 a.m. Please call in advance to reserve your seat. IN THE TRIBAL COURT OF THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF THE GRAND RONDE COMMUNITY OF OREGON CASE NO. C-08-07-002 ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE In the Matter of: TEMBY, Mclinda Petitioner, For TEMBY, Gary Minor The Petitioner, Melinda Temby, on behalf of Gary Lee Temby, a minor child, has petitioned the Court for a Change of Name for the minor child. It is alleged that Petitioner, on behalf of the minor child desires to change his name to Gary Lee Campbell, for the reason stated that: minor child, through regular use, has become known by the proposed name. Based on the foregoing petition filed with the Court on July 15, 2008, and good cause appearing therefore, IT IS ORDERED THAT the petitioner and any person objecting to the granting of the petition shall appear in the Tribal Court of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon, located at 9615 Grand Ronde Road, Grand Ronde, Oregon on, Octo ber 1, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. to show cause why the Court should not enter judgment granting the proposed change of name. The Clerk of the Tribal Court shall cause a copy of this Order to be served upon all parties in accordance with the Rules of Plead ing, Practice and Procedure of the Tribal Court of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon.
