The 2008 Contest Powwow Parade moved to Fort Yamhill State Park as its
beginning point and then proceeded down the access road to the new Uyxat
Powwow Grounds. Starting at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, the parade was led
by the Grand Ronde Honor Guard, above, and Tribal Elder Sylvia Fuller, top left,
was the parade's grand marshal, riding in a convertible Chevrolet Cavalier driven
by Tribal Council member Kathleen Tom. Left, before the parade started Junior
Veterans' Queen Nakoosa Moreland, 1 2, took a cell phone picture of Little Miss
Grand Ronde Promise Rimer, 9. Below left, Junior Miss Grand Ronde Princess A
Lindsay McCue, 1 2, had her crown adjusted by her mother, Tribal member Jodie

she awaits the beginning of the parade.
