Natural Resources Division biologist Jeff Baker, far right, is honored

in June 1999, will be starting graduate school. "As a biologist for
Grand Ronde, Jeff has been very dedicated to his job and we have
certainly benefited from his work," said Natural Resources Division
Manager Michael Wilson. Baker's last day on the job was May 30.
Honor Guard seeks
past Veterans' Royalty
The Grand Ronde Honor Guard wishes to honor all past Veterans'
Royalty by having them attend the Friday evening Grand Entry of
the Veterans' Powwow on July 11.
Royalty members include Courtney Rose, Nikki Norwest, Ashley
Tuomi, Leah Brisbois, Orrin John Allen, and Halona and Leland
Butler Jr., and all current Royalty and any Tribal members who
were princesses.
"We would also like to invite all past Tribal Royalty to join us in the
Grand Entry on Friday," said Veterans' Special Event Board Chairman
Steve Rife. "Please come and wear your sashes andor crowns."
Those intending to attend should RSVP to Billie LaBonte at 503-879-5342
so she can compile a roster for the master of ceremonies.
Grand Ronde Low-Income
Home Energy Assistance Program
The Grand Ronde Tribe is operating its
own Low-income Home Energy
Assistance Program (UHEAP) to
assist income eligible Grand
Ronde Tribal members with
energy payments (utility bills,
firewood, etc.), energy
emergencies and weatherization
(e.g. furnace repairs).
Households with an adult Grand
Ronde Tribal member are eligible to
apply within Polk, Yamhill, Marion,
Washington, Multnomah, Tillamook and Clackamas counties.
CTGR members in these counties need to contact Grand Ronde to
receive assistance instead of from the community action agency in
their area. Grand Ronde 'i program enables more CTGR members to
be served man would otherwise have been possible.

i lousing Autlwrity at 503-879-2405 for wcathcriattfort. The Tribe's
LI1 IEAP program also serves all income eligible Indians on Grand
Ronde Reservation or trust land.
