Tribal Library Family Literacy Night: For parents and their
children in grades K- 3rd will be held from 5:30 7:30 p.m. in the
Education Bldg. Rm. 126 the following dates:

Each session will include reading the book, teaching a reading
strategy for parents and students to practice together and partici
pating in a story related activity. A light meal will be provided for
participants. Contact the library at ext. 1488 to sign up for the family
literacy night sessions.

graduate school students
Portland State University is hosting Graduate Horizons 2008, Pre-Gradu-ate
School Program workshop at the Native American Student & Commu
nity Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 12. The workshop is for Native
American, Native Hawaiian and Alaskan Native Students. Lunch will be
provided. Graduate Horizons also hosts a four day "crash course" for Na
tive college students, master's students or alumni to help prepare them for
graduate school, July 12-15, 2008, at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Eligibility:
Current high school sophomore, junior or senior (priority will be given
to sophomorejunior students)
Grand Ronde Tribal member
Reside in Oregon
Male
GPA of at least a 2.5 (cumulative) or 3.0 in previous term
Good attendance record (fewer than 4 unexcused absences in the previ
ous term)
Good behavior (student must demonstrate maturity and good decision
making skills students who have had any discipline referrals in the
past 3 months must submit an appeal to have his application read)
Commitment:
Student must commit to being present throughout the entire internship
experience (June 8-28, 2008)
Student must present to the Grand Ronde community following the trip
to New York (July 2008)
Student must present to the incoming internsparticipants prior to their
departure the following year (May 2009)

2008 Tribal scholarship
applications now available
Applications for the CTGR competitive scholarships are now
available in the following categories: 1. Full- and part-time under
graduate; 2. Full- and part-time graduate; 3. Full- and part-time
adult vocational training; 4. Eula Petite for education majors;
5. Ray McKnight for natural resource majors. Deadline for all
categories is April 30. You must be an enrolled member of the
Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde to apply. For more informa

FULL-TIME STUDENT
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All full-time students are required to file the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAS FA) each year. A copy of the FAS FA
and Student Aid Report (SAR) must be submitted to the Tribal
Education Program.
2. All full-time students are responsible for having their grade
reports sent to the Higher Education Programs upon completion of
each termsemester.
3. All full-time students must maintain a 2.00 GPA and success
fully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per termsemester to
remain eligible for funding.
4. Full-time students who do not meet the minimum academic
requirements will be placed on academic PROBATION. Students
who are placed on PROBATIONARY STATUS will not be awarded
the following term until they have provided a copy of their grade
reporttranscript.
NO AWARD WILL BE MADE UNTIL GRADE REPORT
TRANSCRIPTS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED.
5. Failure to meet the minimum academic requirements during
the probationary termsemester will result in SUSPENSION from
the program.
6. Full-time students must notify the Higher Education Programs
of address, telephone and e-mail changes as soon as they occur.
9. Each year full-time students must sign a "Release of Informa
tion" form allowing correspondence with the school of attendance
regarding financial aid, educational budget, attendance and grade
reports.
10. Students who withdraw or do not complete a termsemester
will be required to reimburse the Higher Education Programs for
funding received for the termsemester.
