2008 Tribal
applications now available
Applications for the CTGR competitive scholarships are now
available in the following categories: 1. Full- and part-time under
graduate; 2. Full- and part-time graduate; 3. Full- and part-time
adult vocational training; 4. Eula Petite for education majors; 5. Ray
McKnight for natural resource majors. Deadline for all categories
is April 30. You must be an enrolled member of the Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde to apply. For more information or an applica

The collection "holdings are more than 7,500 items and are at an
estimated value of approximately $112,000.
Poetry Recital Reading: Due to lack of participation, the Tribal
Library will not be hosting a monthly Poetry activity. In 2008, the
library will host quarterly Poetry Reading Recitals. The first 2008
activity will be held 6 p.m. Friday, March 28.
Book Club: Book Club will no longer be held on a monthly basis
due to lack of participation. In 2008, the library will host two author
talks and book-signing events instead.
Teen Advisory Meeting: 4 p.m., Jan. 17. If you are a teen in
terested in participating on the Teen Advisory Council to the Tribal
Library, plan to attend the meeting. Advisory members make recom
mendations on books to purchase for the collection and assist with
planning youth activities to be held at the Library.

sor the Family Literacy Nights for the third year. A schedule will

Ariz., for their generous donation of Native American books this
past month. Also thanks to Angie Blackwell, and Wink and Kathy
Soderberg for their continued support in donating library collection

with graduation costs or
admissiontesting fee costs?
Graduation Sponsorship Program is available to Grand Ronde Tribal
members who are graduating from a high school, collegeuniversity or
tradeapprenticeship program.
The program will pay up to $100 towards graduation expenses (cap,
gown andor announcements).
Admission and Testing Fee Assistance Program is available to
Grand Ronde Tribal members who are applying for admission to colleges
and universities or are in need of testing fee assistance for college-level
testing (SAT, ACT, GRE, etc.).
The program will pay up to $200 towards admission and testing fees
per academic year.

PathwayOregon is a promise that tuition and fees for quali
fied, federal Pell Grant-eligible Oregonians will be covered by
federal, state and institutional grants and scholarships at the
University of Oregon. For students selected for the additional
housing award, the UO ensures that they have grant funding
equivalent to the cost of university housing's double room with a standard
meal plan each year. In addition, PathwayOregon students will have grant
assistance to cover the cost of their enrollment in a course designed to help
them polish the skills they need to be a successful university student.
