May 26, 1922 - Nov. 29, 2007
Tribal Elder Everett D. "Bud" Farlow, 85,

grandson of Indian Mary Peco of Grants
Pass, who was the daughter of Umpqua Joe
(Rogue River) and has a park named after
her.
Mr. Farlow was a good husband, his wife's
best friend and a good father. He always joked
around, making family members laugh.
He served in the Navy during World War II and received a Purple Heart.
After he returned from the war, he met his wife, Jerry. They celebrated
their 61st wedding anniversary on Nov. 24.
Survivors include his wife, Jerry, of Salem; sons, Eldon and Mur
ray of Portland; daughters, Terry Lou Boerckel of Portland, Lannie
Farlow of the United Arab Emirates and Bonnie Norine Meeker of
Salem; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

in 1972 and Martin in 1995.
Family members said he will be missed by all, including nephews
and nieces and two special friends, Pf Smith and Earl Bonne.
Family members said he spent the last days of his life at Black
Bear Lodge, where he looked out upon beautiful scenery and talked
of the deer coming to his window.
Family members thanked Black Bear Lodge employees for the love
and care they gave to their father.
