Tribal Council Christmas Adlams VQSDtiS Tnbe
Party set for Dec. 8 .
The annual Tribal Council Christmas party will be held Saturday, Dec.
8, in the gymnasium.
The party will begin at 1 1 a.m. with photos with Santa Claus for children
up to 10 years of age. The first photo is free; all others cost $5 each.
Lunch will be served at noon and children will start singing at 12:45
p.m. Children will be invited to sing Christmas carols for Tribal members.
Door prizes will be awarded after the children's performance.
Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped gift for a needy child for
Christmas andor canned food for the local food banks.

Portland City Commissioner Sam Adams visited Grand Ronde on Nov. 1 6. He
met with Tribal Council and members of Tribal staff. Chairwoman Cheryle
Kennedy, right, chaired a roundtable discussion about the Tribe's ceded
lands in the Portland area, projects the Tribe participates in with the city of
Portland, environmental and health concerns that need further cooperation
between the two governments, and the funding support the Tribe gives to
Portland-area projects through the Spirit Mountain Community Fund. Adams
reiterated his awareness of the Tribe's place in Portland, both historically
and in the present day, and he committed to building stronger consulting
relationships between the two governments. The highlight of the day was
a visit to the fish weir, where Adams viewed more than 70 fish ready to be
tagged and released by Tribal Natural Resources staff. Adams will chronicle
his visit on his blog in the coming weeks.
Podiatrist to be at Tribe's clinic
The clinic has contracted with podiatrist Jeffrey Russo to be on site two days
a month. At this time, only Tribal members are eligible for podiatry services.
Dr. Russo will be on site Dec. 11.
