in Grand Ronde
Interested in learning how to buy and sell items on eBay? You can use
eBay and the Internet to make money andor purchase gifts during the
holiday season.
The Noncredit Program will be hosting an eBay training course in the
Adult Education Computer lab on Saturday, Nov. 3. This course will cover
many topics, including: registering and creating a seller's account, prod
uct selection, prohibited items, fees, listing preparation, proper item title
and descriptions, taking professional photos, pricing considerations and
"how to's," selling formats, item selection and research, selecting payment
methods and PayPal, shipping options, shipping calculator, packing and
weighing, post-sale, "My eBay" management, feedback, and much more.
The course will run from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break
and will be taught by Carlos Paris, a certified eBay Instructor.
Class cost is $75 and includes the instruction manual. Eligible Tribal mem
bers can access the Noncredit Program (Formerly Short Term Training) for as
sistance with registration costs. Space is limited to the first 15 who register.

Ambassadors Program
Americans for Indian Opportunity
This program is designed to foster leadership development among
the Native American community.
Eligibility: American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawai
ians federally and non-federally recognized Tribes from the U.S.
must be between the ages of 25-35.
Applications must be received by Jan. 8, 2008.

Book Club: Book Club will only meet one time per month. Book
Club will be held on the second Saturday of the month from noon
- 1 p.m. in the library as follows: Nov. 10 and Dec. 8.
Poetry Recital Reading: The Poetry group will continue to
meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
in the Tribal Library (Note time change) as follows: Nov. 14 and
Dec. 12.
Saturday Activity: For K- 3rd grade youth is held on the third
Saturday in November and December due to the holidays as follows:
Nov. 17 and Dec. 15. December activity may be held in conjunction
with the Tribal Christmas Party.
Library statistics: October 1-18 11 new cards; 357 patron
visits; 354 circulations; 71 donations; 63 computer sign-ins in the
14 Y days of service.
Volunteer recruitment: The Tribal Library is currently accept
ing applications from people interested in serving as a volunteer
in the library. Volunteer service varies from circulations duties to
assisting with special exhibits or events. The library is currently
seeking a volunteer who enjoys working with people and can provide
basic computer tutoring for beginner users and or who is interested
in facilitating book clubs or children activity sessions. If interested,
please contact the library in person or call ext. 1488.
The Tribal Library welcomes donations to the library collection.

and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the computer lab in the Adult Education
Building. Cost for a workshop is $150 and eligible Tribal members can ap
ply to the Noncredit Program (formally Short Term Training) for assistance
with registration costs. Space is limited to the first 15 who register.

Indian Washington Internships for
Native Students (WINS) program
This program is designed for American Indian and Alaska Native stu
dents to intern and study in Washington, D.C., for the semester or the
summer. Students work 35-40 hours a week in a federal agency which
sponsors American Indian and Alaska Native students from across the
country and develops leadership skills.
Students may receive transportation to and from Washington, D.C., tu
ition and books, stipend for incidentals and local transportation, housing
at American University's Tenley Campus dormatories, meal plan and an
internship in the capital.
