The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is investigating an
opportunity to participate in an Elderly rental apartment building
in downtown McMinnville, with move in dates scheduled for the
fall of 2008. If you are a Tribal Elder and are interested in this
type of living opportunity, we'd like to hear from you right away.

Dear Smoke Signals,
The family of Louise Long would like to thank all persons involved in
her funeral. All of your hard work made this a much remembered day.
As Louise continues her journey we would like to thank Dino Butler and
Robert Van Pelt for officiating the service, the cooks for the meal, the
drummers, the funeral home, and the Tribe for use of the gym.

We would like to thank everyone that helped with Dorothy Lawe's Cel
ebration of Life. Special thanks to: CC for song at Cemetery; Drummers wh6
performed at the cemetery; Dorothy Lane for organizing event; Kathryn
Harrison for blessing, Julian, Alexus, and Promise for helping serve'and
setup meal; Teresa and kids; Jackie and Dewayne; Mary and Allen; Aunt
Barbra and Aunt Judy; Darlene and Bonnie; Barbara Jean; and Liz Leno. .
Also would like to thank the kitchen staff for all their help. Thank you for
all the wonderful cards, letters, food and prayers everyone brought. We
all appreciate all the great help that everyone brought.and if anyone was
forgotten we would like to thank you.
Diane Lane and Family
Dorothy Lawe was the daughter of TJ and Sis McKnight. She was the
oldest of 13 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Reynold
Lawe. She enjoyed people and gatherings. She volunteered for every event
she possibley could. She was on the Rodeo and Pow-wow Committees.
She taught arts and crafts to the kids at Nanitch for at least 10 years.
She enjoyed making shawls, scarves and hats for people. She was very
involved in all Elders activities. She is survived by Daughter Diane Lane,
three sisters: Judy, Barbara, Beverly; one brother, Richard; grandchildren
Dorothy, Mike, Teresa; great grandchildren Elisha, Joe, Denaee, Kyle, Am
ber, Jess, Cheyenne, Keshena and Tara Lynn; great-great grandchildren
Julian, Alexus, Adian, Jada, and three more due in summer. We will all
deeply miss you and forever love you.
