2007-2008 school year are now being accepted. Please con

Upcoming Activities at the Tribal Library
Summer Program: Get A Clue! Begins July 2 and ends August 10.
Regional Libraries will be participating in a regional summer program
theme "Get a Clue." The Tribal Library will participate with this theme
along with the other Oregon Libraries.
Kindergarten - 5th grade Sessions
Story and activity topics for the six weeks of sessions will be: Week
One: Detect It! Super Sleuthing; Week Two: Solve It! Codes, Cipher's
& Puzzles; Week Three: Dig it Up! Mysteries from the Past; Week
Four: Discover It! Science Mysteries; Week Five: Explain It! Real Lift
Mysteries and Week Six: Investigating It! Learn About You.
Sessions will be held for school grade groups of K - 3 and 4 5. Ses
sions will last approximately one hour.
6 - 8th grade Sessions
Story and activity sessions will focus on Investigative journaling. Each
week the participant will enter information about descriptions, clues
and evidence as they try to solve a series of mysteries.
9 - 12th grade Sessions
Story and activity sessions include will include a Mystery Movie,
Readers Theater, Magnet Poem Contest, a Mystery Dinner, Super
Sleuthing Scavenger Hunt, and a Family night event.
In addition Mystery Theater will be held during the noon hour two
days a week at the Youth Education Center.
The Summer Program Session schedule for each of the groups will be
posted in the next issue of Smoke Signals.
Reading Incentive Program: Register your childchildren & youth
between the ages of 4 - 17 during June 1 - 15th. Reading Incentive will
begin at the time of registration and end August 1 0th. Participants may
earn prize incentives for each 15 minutes of reading and participants
will be eligible to enter their name for a drawing for each book read at
their level of reading.
Book Club: Will not be held during the months of June - August
Poetry Recital Reading: Will not be held during the months of
July and August.

The workshops will be taught by Northwest Computer Learning
Center and will run from 9 a.m;- 4 p.m. in the computer lab in
the Adult Education Building. Cost for a workshop is $150 and
eligible Tribal members can apply to the Short-Term Training
program for assistance with registration costs. Space is limited
to the first 15 who register.
