2007 Education Scholarship applications are available in the following cat
egories: Full & Part-Time Undergraduate, Full & Part-Time Graduate, Full
& Part-Time Adult Vocational Training, Eula Petite for Education related
majors, Ray McKnight for Natural ResourceForestry related majors. Must
be an enrolled member of Grand Ronde.
Application deadline is April 30. To request an application, please call the

Family Literacy Night: We had four families participate in the
three workshop series this year with a focus on Reading Comprehen
sion. Youth and parents enjoyed learning new reading strategies,
character role playing, making collages and stick puppets, putting on
plays, making Native American game pieces, and playing the games.
The Tribal Library will sponsor Family Literacy workshops again
next February and March. Thank you families who participated and
made the sessions fun and successful!
Book club meets on Saturday, April 14, from 12 to 1 p.m. and
Monday, April 23, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Poetry meets on April 11, from 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Our thanks to Carol Nelson again for her wonderful contribution
of Native American books.
We have two book orders in so we will be adding quite a few new
books to the collection in April.

Workshop Classes In Grand Ronde
Tuesday, April 10, 2007 Advanced Microsoft Word
The workshops will be taught by Northwest Computer Learning
Center and will run from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. in the computer lab in the
Adult Education Building. Cost for a workshop is $150 and eligible
Tribal members can apply to the Short-Term Training program for
assistance with registration costs. Space is limited to the first 15
who register.

A Pre-College Workshop for Native American Students
Eligibility: Native American (enrolled members only), Alaska Native or
Native Hawaiian ' current sophomores and juniors in high school with
a minimum GPA of 3.0 (in academic courses) required.
June 16-20, 2007 - Harvard University, Cambridge, MA
June 23-27, 2007 - Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA
College Horizons is a five-day "crash course" in preparing for college.
Expert college counselors will team up with college admission officers to
help you:
Select colleges suitable for you
Complete winning applications and write memorable essays
Learn what turns an applicant into an admitted student
Become a test-prep "whiz kid"
Find your way through the financial aidscholarship jungle
Applications will be accepted on a space-available basis until May 1
program cost is $150 (includes tuition, room, meals, all materials, and
transportation to campus from the Boston, San Francisco, or San Jose
airports). Students are responsible for their own airfare, but substantial
funds are available for travel and tuition assistance (each year more than
50 of students are awarded).

Indian Land Tenure Foundation
Summer Internship
The Indian Land Tenure Foundation (ILTF) is looking
to hire current undergraduate or graduate students as
interns for the summer of 2007. The internships are full
time positions over the course of 10 12 weeks (400 hours)
beginning on June 4, 2007. Salaries will be commensurate
with experience and qualifications. Application deadline
