AMENDMENT TO PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
The Tribal Council, in consultation with the Tribal Attorney's Of
fice, has made the following emergency amendment to the Personnel
Management Ordinance. The amendment was adopted on a tempo
rary basis at the February 7, 2007, Tribal Council meeting.
The purpose of the amendment is to reflect the Tribal Council's
decision to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a standard Tribal
Holiday instead of President's Day. As a result of the amendment,
President's Day will no longer be observed as a standard Tribal
Holiday. The amendment modifies the Personnel Management Or
dinance as follows:
The word "Presidents Day" is deleted from Section (e)(1)(B) of the
Ordinance and replaced with the words "Martin Luther King Jr.
Day."
As amended Section (e) of the Ordinance reads as follows:
(e) Holidays
(1) .Standard holidays of the Tribe shall include:
(A) New Year's Day
(1$) Martin Luther King Jr. Day
(C) Memorial Day
(D) Tribal Restoration Day
(E) Independence Day
(F) Labor Day
(G) Veterans' Day
(H) National Indian Day (4th Friday of September)
(I) Thanksgiving Day and following Day
(J) Christmas Day
The Tribal Council invites comment on the proposed amendment.
