Family Literacy Night workshops for parents and their child
children in grades K - 3rd grade will be sponsored by the library
again this year on the following dates: February 8; February 22
and March 8.
Each session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and last until 7:30. Sessions
will be held in the 126 Education classroom. The workshop con
tent will include a story time, learning a new reading strategy and
participating in an activity. Two of the books we will be using are
What is the Most Beautiful Thing You Know About Horses and
The Tree in the Ancient Forest. Each child attending and in grades
K 3 will receive a copy of the book after each session. Parents
must accompany their child. Refreshments will be provided.
Beginning in January the Tribal Library will host a monthly
story hour for youth in grades K- 3rd on the third Saturday of the
month. The second session will be held on February 17 at noon .
at the Tribal Library.
Book Club meetings will be held on the second Saturday at noon
- 1 p.m. and on the fourth Monday at 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. each month.
The book club is listening to 40 - 50 minute audio tape books at
this time. Everyone is welcome to attend.
February dates are Saturday the 10th and Monday the 26th.
Poetry Recital Reading is held the second Wednesday of each
month from 5:30 7:00 p.m. Please join us in reading one of your
favorite selections or just come to hear others read.
February date is Wednesday the 14th.

Oregon Student Assistance Commission Scholarships
Applications are now available for the 2007 OSAC Scholarships. Each year
OSAC administers over 300 scholarships though their application. Application
deadline is March 1, or to entered for an Early Bird Scholarship by February
15. Out of state students who are members of Oregon Tribes and attending
Oregon schools are also able to apply.

tuition at Oregon University System Schools
If you are an out of state student who is a member of an Oregon Tribe, or
a Tribe that had traditional and customary boundaries in Oregon, you are
eligible for in state tuition at any of the Oregon University System schools.
This ruling acknowledges some California, Idaho, Nevada, and Washington
