Kenneth Dale Nichols
May 9, 1946 October, 1 1 2006
Tribal Elder Kenneth Nichols passed
away on October 11, 2006. II was the son
of Tribal Elder Georgiana Nichols. He
was born in Oregon City and graduated
from David Douglas High School.
He lived in Portland most of his life
and had many jobs, including security
at the Portland Airport and running the
family meat market.
Surviors include Lena Nichols, of Van
couver, WA, Tina Nichols of Spokane, WA, Diana Nichols Spokane,
WA, and Shelly Atkinson of Spokane, WA. Linda Glass of Depoe Bay,
OR, Don Nichols, Portland, OR, Richard Nichols, Vancouver, WA.
He also has 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ken loved gardening, karokee and spending time with his family.
He will be missed very much.

Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority
One position open to Tribal and Non-Tribal applicants.
The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority Board has one Board
of Commissioners seat open.
The open position will fill a recently vacated seat, with a term that
expires in March 2009. Interested persons should have a demon
strated interest in housing and experience in the housing field in
some capacity, such as:
affordable housing development
property management
residential building construction
housing finance
housing planning
other housing related areas
The board oversees all housing development, housing manage
ment, housing programs and housing operations for the Tribe and
is responsible for policy decisions. The board currently meets at 5
p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Housing Author
ity office in Grand Ronde, and holds a work session on the fourth
Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m.

All letters need to be received by 12 p.m. on Friday, December 1,
2006 to be considered. The Housing Commissioner will be selected

Trainings & Financial Skills
Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is pleased to be able to offer
Homebuyer Trainings and Financial Skills classes to Tribal members.
Financial Skills Trainings consist of four 2-hour class sessions
and will be held on the following schedule:
Tuesday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

classes or if you have any questions.
There is no fee for these classes. Refreshments will be served. Sorry,
no childcare available.
