Attn: Disabled Tribal Veterans Ages 18-54 Tribal Council has approved a new Tribal benefit; the Veterans' Disability Compensation Program that will be implemented im mediately. The purpose of this program is to provide supplemental income to disabled Tribal Veterans between the ages 18-54 who are determined to be disabled by the Veterans' Administration from injury or disease while in the line of duty. To be eligible for the program, Tribal Veterans must meet all of the following requirements: 1) be currently receiving Veterans' Disability Compensation through the Veterans' Administration; 2) fall within the tribally established income guideline (80 of median income according to family size, excluding tribal timber and per capita payments; and 3) be ineligible for the tribal Elders' Pension, Elder SSISSD or non-elder SSISSD programs. Listed below is the Veterans' Administration definition of Veterans eligible for Veteran's Disability Compensation: Disability Compensation is a benefit paid to a Veteran because of injuries or diseases that happened while on active duty, or were made worse by active military service.
