The workshops will be taught by Northwest Computer Learning Center
and will run from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. in the computer lab in the Adult Education
Building. Cost for a workshop is $150 and eligible Tribal members can
apply to the Short Term Training program for assistance with registration
costs. Space is limited to the first 15 who register.

Attention: High School Juniors
(Entering Seniors for Fall 2006)
If you think you may be attending college, it is a really good
idea to take the SAT or ACT test (college entrance exams) in June
2006 because your math and grammar concepts are still fresh in
your brain and the rush of deadlines for high school seniors are
( still a summer away. If you are not satisfied with scores from
the June test you will have time to re-take the test in September
or October 2006.

Attention All Higher Education and
Adult Vocational Training Students:
If you will be a new or returning student Fall 2006, don't forget to apply
for the 2006-2007 Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA). Applications
are available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and at any college, university or
library. It is a requirement for all Higher Education and Adult Vocational
Training Program students to apply for the FAFSA each year.
Remember, never pay to have a FAFSA completed or submitted! It is
free. If you need help filling out your FAFSA, please contact your financial
aid office, high school counselor or CTGR Education at 1-800-422-0232 ext

Awards To Be Held On June 24
The Education Division and Education Committee would like to
invite you to our Annual Honor and Recognition Award Ceremony
(Brunch).

Achievement & Recognition awards for students in grades K-12
will be announced. Tribal graduates and Education Scholarship
recipients will be recognized.
Grand Ronde HeadStart
Recruitment runs from April-July. This announcement is for children
who are three years old by September 1, 2006 to children who are five
years old (pre-kindergarten) and income eligible. Our first day of school
is September 5, 2006. Please call Sandy Bobb at 503-879-2161 for an
application or if you have any questions. Selection and notification will
be made by mid-August and you will be notified if your child has been
accepted or declined. Children with special needs are strongly encour
aged to apply. Transportation may be provided.

Please join me in welcoming Sheila Svela to the Tribal Library
staff. Sheila accepted the Library Aide position in May. Sheila will
be working in the Library on Saturdays.
Registration closes on Thursday, June 15 for the Tribal Library's
Summer Reading Incentive Program that will run through Friday,
August 11.
The Tribal Library supports the Regional Library's Summer Read
ing Program, "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales" this year. The following
activities will be sponsored by the Library:
Story and activity sessions are held on Thursdays from 3-4 p.m.
each week for children in grades K-5 through Thursday, August 10.
Story and activities will focus on the theme so will be about animals
and or pets this year.
A Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales activity session will be held on
Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. for youth in grades 6-8 beginning June
8th and ending Thursday, August 10.
Creature Feature started Tuesday, June 13 through Thursday,
August 10 and will be held from 12:10 - 12:50 p.m. for high school
youth at the Youth Education Center Monday - Thursday. Film
story discussion will lead each viewing session.
Poetry Recital Reading: Wednesday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday activity for children in grade K-3 will be at noon on Sat
urday, July 22.
Book Club will meet on Sunday, June 25 at 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and
Saturday, July 8 at 12-1 p.m. New book club theme is Native Ameri
can Fiction.
Our thanks to donors Angie Blackwell, Wink Soderberg and the
K-5 Program this month.
All activities will be held at the Tribal Library unless noted
otherwise.
