Tribal Housing To Offer Trainings & Financial Skills Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is pleased to be able to offer Homebuyer Trainings and Financial Skills classes to Tribal members. Financial Skills Trainings consist of four 2-hour class sessions and will be held on the following schedule: Tuesdays: June 20, 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays: July 7, 14, 21, 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays: September 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays: October 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The above classes will be held at the Housing Authority. The Financial Skills trainings will be presented in the Port land Office on Fridays: May 5, 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a potluck lunch. Homebuyer Training consists of three three-hour class sessions and will be held on the following schedule: Thursdays: June 15, 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays: July 11, 18, 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays: September 12, 19, 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. Native American Applicants Sought For Hatfield Fellowship The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde announce that applications for the Mark O. Hatfield Congressional Fellowship are now available. Each year, a Hatfield Fellow serves as an intern for a member of Oregon's Con gressional delegation. The Hatfield Fellow is selected from adult Native American applicants, who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe in Oregon. If there are no qualified applicants from Oregon, enrolled members of federally recognized Tribes in Washington, Idaho and Montana will be considered. The Fellow will intern in Washington, D.C. for nine months and will receive a monthly stipend, relocation and travel expenses and tuition for the American Political Science Association orientation. Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. July 14, 2006. Applicants will then be notified if they qualify for interviews. Late applications will not be accepted. The Fellowship honors Mark Hatfield for his accomplishments as a United States Senator, a former Governor of Oregon and for his mentorship of many leaders in their own communities. Funding for the Fellowship comes from the Spirit Mountain Community Fund, the philanthropic arm of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, which is committed to honoring their Tribal traditions of sharing and giving back to the community. In addition to funding the fellowship, the Tribe dedicates six percent of the profits from Spirit Mountain Casino to non-profit organizations in 11 counties in Western Oregon. Since the fund's beginning in 1997, over $30 million has been awarded to area non-profits! Deadline: Friday, July 14, 2006 Bid Anniouncennenft The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde are seeking bids from interested parties to furnish beverage and snack vending services to various governmental buildings in the Grand Ronde area. Vending services include nine beverage vending machines and nine snack machines located in the following facilities: Governance, Procurement, Health & Wellness, Gaming Commission, Social Ser vices, Community Center, Gymnasium, Maintenance and Natural Resources. Contractor shall have minimum of one year of successful professional experi ence providing vending services and install and operate high quality vending machines. Machines shall be of adequate size and capacity to provide continu ous service. Vending machines shall be arranged in attractive units, making use of similarly sized machine, compatible systems, attractive decorative panel, accent lighting, color and other materials. ALL INSTALLATIONS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE TRIBE. All machines shall be installed at no expense to The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Bidders shall include a commission schedule based on sales and any associated cost for cords or hook-up accessories in the bid price. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for providing equipment, routine main tenance, repairs, delivery of products and stocking of machines. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS Bid proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope. The envelope shall be ad dressed to the Tribe at 9615 Grand Ronde Road, OR 97347, attention Larry Leith. If the bid is sent by mail, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope with the notation "SEALED BID ENCLOSED" on the face there of. Bids must be received at the designated location by 5 p.m. on June 26, 2006. Bids received after the time and date for receipt of bids will be returned un opened. The bidder shall assume full responsibility for timely delivery at the location designated for receipt of bids. Oral, telephonic, or facsimile transmis sion bids are invalid and will not receive consideration. MODIFICATION OR WITHDRAWAL OF BID A bid may not be modified, withdrawn or canceled by the bidder after 5 p.m. on June 26, 2006 and each bidder so agrees in submitting a bid. Prior to the date and time designated for receipt of bids, a bid submitted may be modified or withdrawn by notice to the Tribe at the place designated of receipt of bids; such notice shall be in writing over the signature of the bidder. A change shall be so worded as not to reveal the amount of the original bid. Withdrawn bids may be resubmitted up to the date and time designated for the receipt of bids provided that they are then fully in conformance with these instructions to bidders. REJECTION OF BIDS The Tribe reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to reject a bid that is in any way incomplete or irregular, to waive technical defects in bidding, or negotiate with any unsuccessful bidder if no bid is awarded. Native American preference, will apply during the consideration process.
