"Building Native Communities: Financial Skills For Families"
Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is pleased to offer this
training to our community. "Native people have always managed
their resources wisely, whether it was catching the salmon, har
vesting camas root, or hunting deer. First Nations Development
Institute and the Fannie Mae Foundation have developed a cur
riculum which is designed to help Native communities and their
members adapt their traditional skills to the wise management of
financial resources."
As you work through the guide, you will learn about:
Building a healthy economy
Developing a spending plan
Working with checking and savings accounts
Understanding credit and your credit report
Accessing credit
Whether you want to Start a business, buy a home, or pay off
debt, personal financial literacy is a first step to gaining control
over your financial future.
There are six sessions to earn the Certificate of Completion.

The Pow-wow Special Event Board is inviting all Tribal vendors,
both craft and food, interested in participating in Annual Contest
Pow-wow to a forum to discuss concerns regarding vendor fees.

If anyone wants to sign up for any yoga or cultural class they need
to pre-register for the class and fill out a short term training through
education, so the class will be paid for. All classes will start April
3, 2006 and will run for 12 weeks.
