Recruitment runs from April-July. This announcement is for children who
are three years old by September 1, 2005 to children who are five years old
(pre-kindergarten) and income eligible. Our first day of school is Septem

August and you will be notified if your child has been accepted or declined.

National Museum of the American Indian -Smithsonian
Institution Internships
The internship program provides educational opportunities for students
interested in the museum profession and related programming.
B Interns complete projects using the resources of the National Museum
of the American Indian and other Smithsonian offices.
B Each internship sessions lasts approximately ten weeks.
B Interns work from 20-40 hours a week.

Honor & Recognition June 18
The Tribal Education Division will hold the Annual Honor & Recog
nition Ceremony on June 18 at 11:00 am at the Tribal Gym. Achieve
ment & Recognition awards for students in grades K-12 will be an
nounced and Tribal graduates & Education Scholarship recipients will
be recognized. Please notify the Education Division by Friday, June
10 of Tribal graduate names and graduating class information so they
can be included in the program of events. Everyone is welcome to
attend. R.S.V.P. by June 10 is appreciated in order to have an esti
mate of the number of people who will attend the ceremony. Please

American Indian Science &
Engineering Society Scholarships
AISES is now accepting applications from undergraduate and graduate stu
dents in the following categories: General Motors Engineering Scholarship; Henry
Rodriquez Reclamation College Scholarship & Internship; A.T. Anderson Memo
rial Scholarship; and EPA Tribal Lands Environmental Science Scholarship.
Application deadline is June 15 for all categories. For more information please

Grand Ronde Tribal Library
The Grand Ronde Tribal Library is located in the Education Building. Library
hours are as follows:
Monday - Wednesday 8 a.m. - Noon and 1 - 8:30 p.m.
Thursday & Friday 8 a.m. - Noon and 1-5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The library collection contains over 3,000 items that include fiction and non
fiction for youth and adults, a significant Native American collection, a wonder
ful collection of children's books in excess of 100 items, a limited collection of books
on tape, a donated video collection of new and old movies and an impressive ref
erence section with all updated materials.
An activity program for youth is held each fourth Saturday of the month for
Kindergarten to 5th graders from noon - 2 p.m. An Adult Book Club meets on
the second Saturday of the month from Noon - 2 p.m. and on the fourth Monday
from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The book club members are reading Mystery books the past
two months and have discussion & comment sessions.
