Dear Smoke Signals,
I wanted to thank all the wonderful people that donated towards get
ting Dean Mercier's riding lawn mower fixed and running for his birth
day. Even with all the delays getting it repaired, I do believe it has brought
Dean out of his sickness. He hasn't been off it for one day. I would like to
give a special thanks to Donna Casey for all the hard work she put into
inviting people. Even though the birthday notice didn't come out in the
Smoke Signals until a day before the party, it was an open invitation. Many
people came by just from word of mouth leaving us with standing room
only. The birthday cake was wonderful Donna.
Thank you to Darrell Merrier for letting Tim "Gordon" Linton use his
trailer to transport the mower back and forth. Tim was so great and put a
lot of time into the venture that seemed to fall apart with delays with lis
tening to my frantic phone calls.

Dear Smoke Signals,
The family of Emma Sell would like to thank all our friends and rela
tives for the immeasurable support you have shown for us in this difficult
time of our personal loss. We would especially like to give a big thanks to
Billie LaBonte, Claudia Leno and our cousins; Gene, Butch, Carol, Mark,
Lenny, Walter, Jimmy B. and all the support staff. Thanks also to Jan
Michael and Rex for their inspirational songs and to Louise and Kenny
for their touching personal reflections. We would also like to express our
gratitude to our cousins Fritz and Jean and all those who sent the beauti
ful flowers and cards. The words spoken and the memories shared at our
mother's funeral evoked fond memories and brought healing to our hearts.
"There are stars whose radiance is visible on Earth though they have
long been extinct. There are people whose brilliance continues to light the
world though they are no longer among the living. These lights are par
ticularly bright, when the night is dark."
