One goal of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde is to
provide quality health care and health insurance to Tribal
members. This goal is supported by access to care, quality of
care and the costs of providing care. The Tribe is committed
to addressing health care concerns, along with the continued
development of the current health care program. Currently,
the Tribe is in the process of reviewing the health care plan
for Tribal members to address these concerns and would like
your feedback.
Several Tribal member health plan meetings are scheduled
for May. The purpose of these meetings is to gather feedback
regarding your experience with UMR including claims sub
missions, access to doctors, pharmacy and prescription, as well
the overall process and health plan. This is your opportunity
to give input and suggestions on the health plan and tell us
what is working or not. Your participation would be valued
and much appreciated: Please join the Tribal Risk Manage
ment staff, KPMG consultants and UMR on any of the follow
ings dates:

Dear Smoke Signals,
Thank you to everyone that bought baked goods and a special thank
you to the Grout family for organizing the event and raising $300.
Thank you very much,
Crissy Weber
Dear Joanne Carr,
I just have to thank you for the positive hope that you gave me, to
follow my dreams of finishing my education. I have always thought that
I was too old to learn any more, well you have shown me a new optimistic
way of thinking about myself, and that was because you didn't give up on
me. You continued to believe in me and you also believed in my cousin
Ushwol. Now both of us have completed our G.E.D., and for me that is
just the beginning. This has opened a new door to life for me and I am so
grateful to you and to Grand Ronde for giving me this opportunity to
prevail in life.
Please continue to give others this feeling. It's amazing how having just
one person believe in you let alone all of Grand Ronde standing behind
me, I know now that I 'm worth the fight.
Joanne may the Creator bless your beautiful personality and smile on
many many others to come.
Respectfully,
Dayna M. Westley
All Tribal offices will be closing on Friday, May
