Native Vision Scholarship Established in 1996, the annual scholarship makes a one-year award of $1,000 to outstanding American Indian young people with a commitment to education, athletics and leadership. Tylenol Health Scholarship The makers of TYLENOL Family of Products will award ten $10,000 schol arships and 150 $1,000 scholarships for higher education to students who dem onstrate leadership in community activities and school activities and major or who intend to major in areas that will lead to careers in health-related fields and are residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. You may apply for the TYLENOL Scholarship if you will be attending an undergraduate or graduate course of study in the fall 2004 at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school. This includes those students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course of study and have one or more years of school remaining. National Native American Youth Initiative June 19-27, 2004, Washington, D.C. This is an intense academic enrichment and reinforcement program con sisting of courses teaching leadership, communication, study and testing skills plus assertiveness, networking, professional behavior, interactive learning and time management. The summer program will inform stu dents of health careers available to Native American youth. Health pro fessionals and traditional healers will provide special lectures regarding personal experiences toward a health career and the collaboration be tween western and traditional medicine. Eligibility: Native American high school students planning to enter the health pro fessions between the ages of 16-18. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Bachelors' Degree With Tribal Management Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute and New Mexico State Uni versity create a bachelors' degree in general business with a Tribal man agement option. Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute currently offers an associ ates' degree in business administration with an emphasis on Tribal man agement. Beginning Jan 2004, SIPI students will be able to earn half the credits they need for a New Mexico State University bachelor's degree in business administration at SIPI. That would mean SIPI students could transfer up to 66 credit hours in business science and other fields, includ ing 12 hours in Tribal management courses. Then, it is expected that much of the work towards completing the NMSU degree also could be done at SIPI, through SIPI's distance education facilities. Funding is now available for Tribal members taking the SAT. Please save a re ceipt to be reimbursed for this. This is effective January 27, 2004. You can register for the SAT online at www.collegeboard.com. You will need credit card information to do this. We will also have paper versions of this available if you need one. You will be able to pay with a check using the paper version. We have very limited paper copies, so please access the website if you can. Computers are available at the Education Building as well.
