The Natural Resources Department of The Confederated Tribes of
Grand Ronde, in cooperation with Oregon Youth Conservation Corps,
seeks two youth crew leaders and 14 youth crew members for its Sum
mer Youth Crew program. These positions are designed and funded
for the purpose of providing enhanced opportunities for youth andor
students.
Youth Crew Leader F&W Intern
$10.50-$13.00hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30
Approximately 14 weeks, starting June 11, 2004 (flexible)
Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to a seven-person sum
mer youth work crew for eight weeks and assist the Fish and Wildlife
Department for four to six weeks. Projects may include stream and
riparian restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance and
construction, native vegetation plantings, habitat enhancement moni
toring, and other natural resource and community projects.
Qualifications: Desire to work with youth and in natural resources.
Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged
outdoor terrain. Experience in the proper use of hand tools. Good
communication skills.
Requirements: Work boots, valid Oregon Driver's License, safe
driving record. Must successfully complete pre-employment back
ground check and drug test.
Closing date: Friday, May 21, 2004.
Youth Crew Member
$7.75hour
Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30
Approximately 8 weeks, starting July 1, 2004
Duties: Work as a member of a seven-person summer youth work
crew. Youth crew projects may include stream restorationenhance
ment, trail and park maintenance, native tree plantings, forest in
ventory work, or other natural resource and community projects.
Qualifications: Must be 16-19 years of age. Must have the abil
ity or experience to safely and properly use hand tools. Must be in
good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor ter
rain. Interest or experience in natural resources related work help
ful. Requirements: Furnish their own work boots and successfully
complete pre-employment background check and drug test.

Who, What: A Non-Profit Organiza
tion has been set up to teach children
art. We charge $15 a month for art
lessons, all supplies included. We take
children ages 5 to 16 years old. Les
sons include, drawing, pencil, pen &
ink, watercolor, acrylic, goush (a wa
ter base) and some calligraphy.

Doris Lillian Lynch (Jeffers)
August 29, 1924 November 8, 2003
Doris Lillian Lynch (Jeffers), Romaland, California, formerly of Spring
field, Oregon, passed away November 8, 2003.
She was married to Daniel Lynch in Eugene, Oregon on July 14, 1945.
He passed away in September of 1971.
Doris was born in Olma, Oregon to Ira Bertha Jeffers on August 29, 1924.
She grew up in the Witaker area of Sinslow River near Walton, Oregon.
She graduated from Crow High School.
She worked in the fields, flocked Christmas trees, then as a Nurses's Aid
to help raise her children.
She was a life member of Walterville Rebekah Lodge, also an associate
member of the Philomath Lodge.
She was a very proud member of the Tribe. She also belonged to the
Eugene Church of Christ.
She loved sewing, quilting and crocheting.
Survivors are Charlette Gray of Philomath, Oregon; Gloria Sundohl of
Springfield, Oregon; Dennis Lynch of Idyllwild, California; Jenny Jones of
Winston, Cindy Diaz of Romaland, California, four brothers; Leo of Marcola,
Buddy and Donald of Walton, Henry of Prineville, six sisters; Mildred, Betty,
Evelyn of Eugene, Edith of Albany, Alta of Veneta and Lanora of Alaska, 10
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her grandson Christopher
has passed away previously.
Nadine Irvin White
April 27-1962 February 19, 2004
Nadine White, 41, of Bowling Green, Missouri passed away on Thursday,
February 19 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Nadine was born April 27, 1962 in Louisiana to Robert and Nancy Irvin.
Survivors include her husband, Michael White of Mexico, Missouri. Her
parents of Louisiana, Missouri, two sons; James and Kevin, one brother,
three sisters, three grandchildren and one soon-to-be grandchild.
Nadine was a graduate of Louisiana High School and attended nursing
school at PikeLincoln Technical School of Nursing in Eolia, Missouri. She
worked as a LPN for 1 1 years.
Her favorite activities were playing pool, horse riding, dancing, music
and she loved being with family and loved ones.
She touched many people's lives as a professional caregiver as well as in
her personal life. She will be missed.
Alvin "Al" Billings
March 3, 1939 December 3, 2003
Alvin Billings, resident of Willamina, Oregon, died at home on December
3, 2003. He was 64 years of age.
Al was born in Fresno, California on March 3, 1939 the son of Elvin and
Fern Butler Billings. On January 6, 1958 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard
serving until December of 1965. Al married Norma Lillard on September
22, 1972 in Willamina, Oregon. He enjoyed hunting, logging, the beach,
cooking, traveling and old county music. Al is preceded in death by his
brother David "Crockett" Billings in September of 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Norma, sons: Edon Feack, Jeff &
Wade Greenwood, daughters: Tammy Childs and Lisa Coppinger. Along
with 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on December 9 at the Tribal cemetery.
