Do you have an interest in the Tribe's gaming operation? Do you
have an interest or background in developing policies, rules or regu
lations? Do you have a desire to be part of your Tribal government
and serve the Tribal membership? Would you like to be part of the
team responsible your Tribe's nationwide reputation as one of the
leaders in effective regulation of a gaming operation?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions you may want to
consider being a member of the Gaming Commission. There is a cur
rent vacancy on the commission that is open for any Tribal member
who is at least 21 years old.
As a commissioner you cannot be employed at Spirit Mountain Ca
sino; you may be employed by the Tribe in other non-elective and
non-managerial positions; you cannot own an interest in any com
pany that conducts business with the casino; nor can you gamble at
the casino. Commissioners attend two regular, scheduled meetings
each month, and routinely will expend additional hours performing
commission duties.
Interested Tribal members may call 1-877-419-1771 or 503-879-2362
to obtain an application. The deadline for submitting a re
sume and application is February 27, 2004.

Now Is the time to start thinking about joining the Grand Ronde Royally
Court. Participating in the Royalty Court is an excellent chance for young
Tribal women to represent the Tribe in a positive way. It does require
commitment and time, but is a tremendous honor. There will be dance,
protocol, craft and speaking classes that will help prepare yourself to be
on Royalty.
Any young lady who would like to participate in Royalty to gain experi
ence may serve as a Princess and not compete this year for a Queen
position. Fill out the application form provided and send it to the Royalty
Board. Personal contacts can be made with Margaret Provost at 503-879-5331
or Claudia Leno 503-879-5892. We encourage any interested young
lady who is a Tribal member, between the ages of 5 and 21, to join us.
Participants must be an enrolled member of the Grand Ronde Tribe, be
alcohol and drug free, be childless and never married. If school age, must
be attending school (private or public) full-time.
Miss Tiny Tot 5-8 years of age
Junior Miss Grand Ronde 9-14 years of age
Senior Miss Grand Ronde 15-18 years of age
Miss Grand Ronde 19-21 years of age
Participants must have their own regalia. It is not the responsibility of
the Royalty Board, Tribal Council or any other Tribal program to provide.
Members of the Royalty Court are not paid positions, although the cho
sen Queens and Princesses will receive motel fees and a set amount for
travel expenses for attending required events. For all fund-raisers and ac
tivities that Royalty is involved in, the court and their families or sponsors
are required to participate.
All the members on the Royalty Court must show good judgement by
not participating in any activities that could bring adverse publicity to
themselves or the Tribe. All members of Royalty must comply with the
Royalty guidelines and the Royalty agreement.
The deadline for submitting a application is March 31, 2004.
