Tribal History Class
A Tribal history class has been scheduled for Tuesday, Febru
ary 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Center. The class is open
to both Tribal members and staff. Watch for more history classes
in the upcoming 2004 Cultural Class schedule that will be out
soon.

IN THE TRIBAL COURT OP THE
CONFEDERATED TRIBES
OF THE GRAND RONDE COMMUNITY OF OREGON
In the Matter of: TUCKER CASE NO. C-03-12-006
Samantha Dolores, DECREE CHANGING NAME
Petitioner
Based on the allegations set forth in the Petition for change of name filed
by the Petitioner in the above entitled case and its supporting affidavit,
THE COURT FINDS.
1. The Petitioner is over 18 years of age;
2. The Petitioner is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of
the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon;
3. The Petitioner has not petitioned and been granted a change of name
by the Tribal Court within the past twelve ( 12) months;
4. All persons entitled to notice have been properly served with a copy of
the Notice for Name Change, and;
5. No objection to the Petition has been filed by any creditor or former
spouse of the Petitioner.
Based on the foregoing.findings THE COURT DECREES:
1. That the name of the Petitioner be changed from Samantha Dolores
Tucker to Samaatha Delores Dala ;
2. That the Clerk of the Tribal Court shall cause a copy of this Order to
be published in the Tribal Newsletter;
3. That the Clerk of the Tribal Court shall submit a certified copy of this
Order to the Tribal Enrollment office;
4. That the Petitioner shall surrender all old Tribal Identification cards
bearing Petitioner's former name to the Tribal Enrollment office prior to
the Enrollment office issuing Petitioner new Tribal Identification cards
bearing the Petitioner's new name;
5. That within sixty (60) days from the date of this Order the Tribal
Enrollment staff and if necessary the Tribal Enrollment Committee shall
cause new Tribal Identification cards to be issued to Petitioner showing
the new name of the Tribal member and shall change the official member
ship roll and all official enrollment records of the Tribe to reflect the
Petitioner's new name as stated in this Decree;
6. That the Oregon Department of Vital Statistics is authorized to issue
a new birth certificate to Petitioner in such form as to indicate that her
name is Samantha Delores Dala

Borden, Rebbeca Jane, ORDER GRANTTN NAME CHANGE
Petitioner for
BORDEN, Shylee Jane
(Minor Child)
THIS MATTER came before the Court on October 10, 2003. Based on the
allegations set forth in the Petition For Change of Name and New Birth
Certificate Juvenile filed by the Petitioner in the above entitled case, and
based on the Court's examination of the Applicant, the Petitioner and other
interested parties at the Show Cause Hearing held on January 22. 2004.
THE COURT FINDS THAT:
1. Petitioner is over 18 years of age and is the parent or legal guardian of
Applicant, a minor child;
2. Petitioner is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of the
Grand Ronde Community of Oregon;
3. Petitioner has not been granted a change of name by the Tribal Court
within the past twelve (12) months;
4. The person named as "father" on the birth certificate, Richard Borden,
the psychological parent of the child, has been properly served with a copy of
the Notice To Parents and Legal Guardians; he failed to appear at this Show
Cause Hearing; he has consented to this name change;
5. The child's biological father was never notified of the mother's preg
nancy and never inquired as to the possibility of his paternity, and has had
no contact with the mother or the child since the conception of the child; his
whereabouts are unknown;
6. No objection to the Petition has been filed by any parent or legal guard
ian of the minor child and no objection was raised at the Show Cause Hear
ing; and
7. The proposed name change is in the best interests of the minor child.
THEREFORE, BASED ON THE FOREGOING FIMHNGS, THE
COURT ORDERS:
1. That the name of the Applicant be changed from Shylee Jane Borden
to Shylee Jane Palanuk Mercier :
2. That the Clerk of the Tribal Court shall cause a copy of this Order to be
published in the Tribal Newsletter;
3. That the Clerk of the Tribal Court shall submit a certified copy of this
Order to the Tribal Enrollment office;
4. That the Clerk of the Court shall provide Petitioner with a certified
copy of this Order to be submitted by Petitioner to the Registrar of Vital
Statistics in the state in which the applicant was born;
5. That upon receipt of the certified copy of the Order, the Registrar shall
issue a new birth certificate of the applicant to reflect the new name of the
applicant as stated in this Order:
6. That the Petitioner, on behalf of the minor child, shall surrender all old
Tribal Identification Cards bearing Applicant's former name to the Tribal
Enrollment Office prior to the Enrollment Office issuing Applicant new Tribal
Identification Cards bearing the Applicant's new name; and
7. That within sixty (60) days from the date of this Order the Tribal
Enrollment staff, and, if necessary, the Tribal Enrollment Committee, shall
cause new Tribal Identification Cards to be issued to Applicant showing the
new name of the Tribal Member and shall change the official membership
roll and all official enrollment records of the Tribe to reflect the applicant's
new name as stated in this Order.
IT IS SO ORDERED THIS 3Qth DAY OF January. 2004.
