Come Join Us For A Week Of Learning
Math Camp
August 18-20 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (1 hour for lunch)
We will be offering a math camp that can be centered around specific
skill areas as fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, advanced math
and other areas determined by your math skill needs. Camp would run
12 hours and will be offered for 6th-12th graders. FREE!
Study Skills Workshop
August 21-22 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This workshop will give you the best methods and techniques for time
management, test taking, reading, study strategies and note taking. It is
for 6th -12th graders only. Each student will receive a daily planner and
instructed to track assignments, grades and create long and short term
goals. Start the new school year prepared for success. FREE!
Parenting Workshop
August 19 - 20 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Motivational techniques, reading strategies, study skill tips and devel
oping a love of learning is included in this workshop. Learn new skills
that will enhance your ability to motivate your child towards academic
success. FREE!

Fifteen positions are available for each class.
Participants will be selected on a first come, first serve basis.

OSU Challenge Course
This is an event sponsored by the Youth Pre
vention Program. It will allow CTGR youth
the opportunity to learn valuable
leadership, motivation and teamwork skills that
will be fun and last a lifetime.
There are two groups of 20 youth that will be
attending:
1) Entering grades 6-8 (August 25 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.)
2) Entering grades 9-12 (August 28 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.)
It is on a first come, first serve basis.
Youth will need to have their parent or guardian fill out a release
form for the event.

Registration For K-5 Afterschool Program,
No Tribal Before School Care Provided
Registration for the K-5 afterschool program will end on August 22.
Applications are available at the K-5 modular (behind Grand Ronde School)
also at the Early Childhood building, Adult Education building or the
Social Services Department.
Due to recent merging of Grand Ronde and Willamina Elemen
tary schools, Tribal Before School Care will not be provided.

Reminder to Current STTC&DE Students
The STTC&DE Programs can help with the required textbook and supplies
needed as you return to school but only required materials. The cost of any
"extras" you purchase at your college or school's book store (school sweatshirts,
food items, etc.) are your responsibility and cannot be paid for out of Education
Division funds. If you are unsure about a particular item, please check with the
Continuing Education office prior to purchase.

Thursday, August 21 st, 2003
Bus Leaves CTGR Gymnasium at 5:00 p.m. Game starts at 6:35
p.m. Bus will return to CTGR approximately. 1 hour, 30 minutes
after game ends. Open to the first 50 Native Youth (Junior High
or High School Students) that get in their completed permission
slips to the CTGR Tribal Youth Prevention Program. Contact
CTGR Tribal Youth Prevention Program at 503-879-1489, 503-879-1471
or 503-879-2039 to get more information and your per
mission slips. If a youth rides the bus they must have a ride home
or another arrangement must be communicated and agreed upon
with the CTGR Tribal Youth Prevention Program. This drug
alcohol free event is sponsored by the CTGR Tribal Youth Pre
vention Program with help from the Confederated Tribes of Grand
Ronde and the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
