Indians Gather In Monmouth This year's 10th Annual Native American Pow-wow "Bridging the
Gap Between Tradition and Today" was held at the campus of Western Oregon University in Monmouth on
Saturday, February 1. The pow-wow was presented by WOU's Multicultural Student Union and may have
been the biggest yet. Many Grand Ronde Tribal members like Rose Starr (right) and the Grand Ronde Tribal
Royalty attended this year's event. The Grand Ronde Color Guard presented the colors to open the event.
Eagle Valley Singers were the host drum and there were about a dozen drums and several hundred dancers
and spectators.
