Lisa Hargitt, of Grand Ronde, sang the National Anthem. "The Cavalry," a horse riding team, put on a performance on both days. They did a precision riding act that helped get the crowd in a rodeo mood. Rodeo clown John Shepard was there, entertaining the crowd and helping the kids with the stick horse races. It is much harder than it sounds and took the contestants several attempts. Although a little smaller this year, the Grand Ronde All-Indian rodeo is well established and draws talent from as far away as Washington, California and Utah. "We went through great lengths to make sure it went right," said Michaelle Kimsey. "We want to put on a good show so they'll come back." B Bulls Win The bull riding competition was fast and furious this year, so much so that no cowboys were able to complete a full eight-second ride.
