Box 99 Grand Ronde, Oregon 97347 Come and get to know your candidates. To Smoke Signals... As Chairman for the Elders' Mother's Day Tea, I want to thank you for the beautiful ad. It was just gorgeous. It contributed much to the Tea's success. A special Thank You to Kim (Campbell) for the extra work she put in on the sheet music. When "Peachie" (Tribal Elder Annabelle Hamm) sang the room was very hushed. The faces of all showed thoughts of love, memories, happiness and even some tears. It was very special and I think all had a special moment with their mother. My deep appreciation, Wilma Fenwick Drawing by Steve Bobb L ;J - r W V E: J, 171 ' .'A m - VV5 V I" i r i 10 r Wis..... Pride In Their Work Smoke Signal's new newspaper machines can now be found locally throughout Grand Ronde (and soon in Willamina and Sheridan) and in Salem (currently at Chemeketa Community College). Public Information staffers and Tribal members Justin Phillips (left) and Willie Mer cier show off the new machines that sport the Tribal logo. Corrections: Positions on the Tribe's Housing Board are not paid positions as previously reported in the Committee Feature in the May 15 edition. B Joe Kirk works for the Social Services program and not the Adult Vocational Rehabilitation program as indicated in the photo cutline in the June 1 edition. The amount of money given by Boyd's Coffee to the Tribe's Rodeo Committee was $7,500 and not $5,000 as reported in the June 1 edition. Boyd's has been a sponsor since 1996 and will unveil a new logo at this year's rodeo on June 22 and 23. iTTT!f(iihilHift(3E fJS5,,'Jtvs)fiO,4 ltom "Sfcjj? sXtf'Mffs "te.oy PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE 9615 Grand Ronde Road, Grand Ronde, OR 97347 1-800-422-0232 FAX: 503-879-2173 www.grandronde.org DEADLINE DATE ISSUE DATE Thurs.,June20 JULY1 Fri.,July5 JULY 15 Fri.,Julyl9 AUG.l Mon.,Aug.5 AUG. 15 Tue., Aug. 20 SEPT. 1 Thurs., Sept. 5 SEPT. 15 Thurs., Sept. 19 OCT. 1 , Fri.,Oct.4 Oa.15 Fri.,Octl8 NOV.l Tue., Nov. 5 NOV. 15 Fri.,Nov.l5 DEC.1 Thurs., Dec. 5 DEC. 15 Mon., Dec. 16 JAN. 1 Printed on recycled paper.
