"Summer Youth Employment Program" 8 Week Program
Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day.
8 a.m. 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. 5 p.m.
The hours depend on designated work area or credit recovery pro
gram. $6.50hour
Requirements:
Enrolled Grand Ronde Tribal Youth between the ages of 14-17 years
by start date. Must be responsible, dedicated, and reliable. Youth
coming into this program must present a warm and friendly person
ality and be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.
Youth Education and Human Resources will be sponsoring MAN
DATORY informational meetings at the Governance Building in room
204. We will be assisting youth in appropriately filling out an appli
cation and giving helpful tips on interviewing. We will also provide
important information on the Summer Youth Employment Program.
ALL INTERESTED YOUTH MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE
FOLLOWING MEETINGS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN
THE PROGRAM:

Youth Crew Leader
$10.50hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30, approximately 12 weeks,
starting week of June 10, 2002.
Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to a six-person summer
youth work crew for eight weeks and assist the Fish & Wildlife depart
ment for approximately four weeks. Youth crew projects may include
stream restoration and enhancement, trail and park maintenance, na
tive tree plantings, forest inventory, or other natural resource and
community projects.
Qualifications: Desire to work with youth and in natural resources.
Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged
outdoor terrain. Experienced in the proper use of hand tools.
Requirements: Work boots, valid Oregon Driver's License, safe
driving record. Must successfully complete pre-employment background
check and drug test.
Closing date: Wednesday May 29, 2002.
Youth Crew Member
$6.50hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30, approximately 6-8 weeks
starting June 24, 2002.
Duties: Work as a member of a six-person summer youth work
crew. Youth crew projects may include stream restoration and en
hancement, trail and park maintenance, native tree plantings, forest
inventory work, or other natural resource and community projects.
Qualifications: Must be 16-19 years of age. Must have the ability
or experience to safely and properly use hand tools. Must be in good
physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. In
terest or experience in natural resources related work helpful.
Requirements: Must furnish your own work boots and success
fully complete pre-employment background check and drug test.
Closing date: Wednesday June 5, 2002.
