Chemawa Indian School is Filling Vacant School Board Positions Chemawa Indian School, Salem, Oregon, an off-reservation boarding high school, grades 9-12, operated by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, is currently in the process of accepting nominations and appointing two new school board members from the States of Or egon and Washington. The Chemawa School Board consists of five mem bers, one each from the following states: Idaho, Mon tana, Oregon, Washington and one member at-large. Indian parents or legal guardians of students enrolled in the Chemawa Indian School are encouraged to seek appointment on the Chemawa Indian School Board. Board members will be appointed for a term of three years. All board members' terms of office will com mence on September 1, and expire on August 31, or at such later time, as their successor shall be appointed. This announcement Is open until filled. Bingo Benefit for Sept. 11 Disaster Spirit Mountain Casino's Bingo Benefit for the victims, families and communities affected by the September 11 terrorist attacks was attended by 841 people. The effort raised $12,658.50 for The September 11th Fund established by the United Way and The New York Community Trust. In addition to the funds raised, over $690 dol lars in door prizes were awarded and one lucky participant received a Jet Ski valued at $10,000.
