is responsible for the development of co-curricular learning and leader
ship opportunities for students, specifically the fine and performing arts pro
grams among others. Candidates must possess a master's degree in higher
education or a related field, and a minimum of two years experience working
with diverse college students in a university or college environment, training
or experience in leadership development, program planning and evaluation.

or outdoor organizations is required.
The position of advisor, multicultural student organizations and lead
VS ership programs, is responsible for the development of co-curricular
learning and leadership opportunities for students, specifically programs that
are multicultural in nature. Candidates must possess a baccalaureate de
gree. A master's degree in higher education or a related field is preferred.
Candidates must have at least two years full-time experience in developing
multicultural student programs on a university campus or experience in a
similar environment and must demonstrate experience with cultural diver
sity, sensitivity to student concerns and demonstrate commitment to student
learning and leadership.

Salmon Camps
Offered by OMSI
The Oregon Museum of Science
and Industry offers two programs
this summer free of charge to par
ticipants, age 10-18, through gener
ous support though several founda
tions, including the Tribe.
The students will be exposed to
natural resource management ca
reers while working with Native
American professionals in fisheries
and wildlife management, range
management and forestry, field ecol
ogy, botany, zoology, hydrology, ge
ology, and archaeology. The goal is
to provide students with the experi
ence, knowledge and skills to pursue
college degrees and related careers.
Projects include habitat recovery
and scientific monitoring on the newly
protected 24,000 acre Pine Creek wa
tershed on the John Day River.

Open to enrolled Grand Ronde Tribal youth between the ages of 14-17 years old by application
closing date. Must be responsible, dedicated and reliable, Youth coming into this program must
present a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.
Human Resources will be sponsoring informational meetings, assisting youth in appropriately filling
out an employment application and giving helpful tips on interviewing. We will also provide important
information on the Summer Youth Employment Program. Interested Tribal youth must attend one of
these informational meetings in order to participate in the program. Applications will only be ac
cepted through attendance of these meetings.

YOUTH CREW MEMBER. $6.50 per hour. Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Approximately 8 weeks, starting June 25, 2001
CLOSING DATE: THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 2001.
Duties: Work as a member of a six-person summer youth work crew. Youth crew projects may
include stream restorationenhancement, trail and park maintenance, native tree plantings, forest
inventory work, or other natural resource and community projects.
Qualifications: Must be 16-19 years of age. Must have the ability or experience to safely and
properly use hand tools. Must be in good physical condition and be able to work in rugged outdoor
terrain. Interest or experience in natural resources related work helpful.
Requirements: Furnish their own work boots and successfully complete pre-employment
background check and drug test.
