architects for 30 units of new affordable housing and an administrative of
fice building, including all infrastructure, on Tribal trust land located in Grand
Ronde, Oregon.

Public Notice of Availability:
ULQ LOGGING UNIT
The Environmental Assessment (EA) and a Finding of No Significant Im
pact (FONSI) have been issued for the proposed Ulq Logging Unit on the
Grand Ronde Indian Reservation in a portion of the Nl2 of Section 3 and a
portion of the SE14 of Sectionl5, T.5S., R.8W., Willamette Meridian. The
EA discloses the issues relating to the environmental resources affected by
the Proposed Action and alternatives to the Proposed Action. The EA fur
ther discloses the analysis of the likely environmental consequences of the
Proposed Action and alternatives to the Proposed Action. The FONSI dis
closes the alternative selected by the responsible official and gives support
ing reasons for this selection. The Preferred Alternative, Alternative A, pro
poses to regeneration harvest a total of 37.32 acres of Douglas-fir timber
from two stands ranging in age from 108 years-old to 119 years-old.
The EA and FONSI are available for public review and comment until
January 19, 2001. The responsible public official is: Mr. Stan Speaks,
Northwest Regional Director for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The Natural Resources Division (NRD) of the Confederated Tribes of Grand
Ronde is soliciting public comment on the alternatives for two proposed tim
ber sales on the Reservation. The proposed Dirty Straps Logging Unit is
located in T4S, R7W, SE V4 NW V4 and NW Va SW V4 Section 30, Willamette
Meridian. The proposed Corner Creek Logging Unit is located in T5S, R8W,
SW V4 Section 17, Willamette Meridian. '
