Smoke Signals
The Tribe's Achievement and Recognition Awards are an annual noncompetitive honor established to recognize students
who accomplish positive goals in school, home and community. Tribal youth in kindergarten through 12th grade
can apply every year by filling out the application packet and returning it by the deadline date. This procedure is a tool
to help students prepare for the "real life" process of applying for scholarships, admittance into college, and employment.
The Tribe would like to recognize students for staying in school and encourage continued success in their academic
achievements. The youth honored in the following pages put forth the effort to fill out an Achievement and Recognition
application outlining their successes throughout the last year. Applications are available in the spring of each year.
