Session I (10-12 years): JUNE 25-30 Session II (13-15 years): JULY 2-7
With follow-up sessions in October, November, April and May
PROGRAM: Follow the life cycle of the Salmon from the headwaters of the Warm Springs River to the Pacific
Ocean. Explore science, nature, natural resource management, and geography with Oregon Museum of Science
and Industry instructors and Native American natural resource professionals and college students. Stay in the
Hehe Butte Longhouse and take part in a salmon bake; float the Deschutes River to see trout spawning sites; board
research vessels in the Columbia River and Yaquina Bay to take part in fisheries research. During the school year,
weekend programs will take you across the state to investigate fisheries at Hancock Field Station, Cascade
Science School and Camp Kiwanilong, and Oregon State University and the Hatfield Marine Science Center.
This program is offered free of charqe to 25 participants in each session.
GOALS:

To bring together American Indian middle school students from Oregon and Southern Washington for
intensive science education and cultural experience.
To excite and motivate participants to pursue science, math, and technology.
To expose Native American students to successful role models at various stages of their professional
development (i.e. both students and professionals).
To provide a rich variety of science, math and technology follow-up.

Requires a Bachelor of Science or degree in Pharmacy with four years of work experi
ence as a Pharmacist. Current license with Oregon Board of Pharmacy, or eligibility for
reciprocation. Requires knowledge of third party manageability.
Temporary Office Assistant
GRADE: 2 OPEN UNTIL FILLED
The primary function of this position is to provide Tribal members the opportunity for
on the job training while providing back up support to Tribal programs and to become
efficient and gain the experience necessary to qualify for other positions. Requires a
high school diplomaGED equivalency. Some computer skills desired.
