Invitation from Nanitch staff
The staff at Nanitch Sahallie Youth Treatment Center in Keizer, Oregon
welcome the presence of tribal Elders and crafters every night from 6-7:30
p.m. for Native American activities and visiting with the clients. They are
also welcome to share lunch with the staff and clients every day except
Wednesday, when the clients are off-site. Embracing traditional values and
wisdom from Elders is an important part in the recovery of Nanitch's young

A message from
Community Resources department
As you are aware, there will be a disbursement of funds on December 15,
1999 to all eligible members. Due to this, all Emergency Assistance and
Benevolence funds will be suspended from 12-15-99 to 1-15-2000. Prior to
12-15-99, you can continue to apply for these assistance programs through
our department and your requests will be processed on a case by case basis.
We also want to announce some changes and additions to our programs.
As of 11-15-99, all social service intakes requesting assistance from our pro
grams will no longer be handled by Alan Ham at the clinic. Instead, the
social service intakes will be handled by Community Resources. This change
is intended to simplify the delivery service system.
Beginning January 1st, we will be adding two new services. On an ongo
ing basis, there will be a Life Skills Training Class and Anger Management
Violence Intervention Treatment. If you are interested in applying for any
of the above-mentioned services, contact the Community Resources depart
ment at 879-2034 or toll free at 1-800-242-8196.
