Welcome to Grand Ronde
For the past several months, a committee of community members have
been working on creating "Welcome to Grand Ronde" signs to be placed at
the outskirts of town. Four signs will be erected.
Funding for this project came in part from bingo fund-raisers at Spirit
Mountain Casino (through the Willamina and Sheridan Chambers of Com
merce). Tribal Council also generously donated partial funding for the signs,
as well as the land the signs are located on.
The signs are located on Hwy. 18 near Fire Hall Road; facing east on Hwy.
18 before the Casino; and 2 signs (pictured above) on Hwy. 22 near Grand
Ronde Road.
Cindy Lessick from Willamina created the colorful signs. The committee
who worked hard raising money includes: Sheila Herber, Carol Larsen, Perri
McDaniel, Barbara Lake, Margo Mercier, Leonette Galligher, Shirlijeane Abel,
Marilyn Porter, Vivian DeMary, Shelley Hanson, Jessie Brann, Jan Reibach Jr.,
and Jackie Provost.
