Smoke Signals 10 Patients: cut your clinic time down The CTGR Health and Wellness Center reports that there are several factors that slow down the expe dient processing of referrals and billing proce dures. Patients need to be responsible in pro viding us with the correct information such as: insurance coverage, current address, and cur rent telephone number. This information needs to be verified at each visit to the clinic and the patient must present their most current health insurance card as well. The lack of current information impacts the pro cessing of the visit, the referral, and other activities surrounding the visit. For example, lack of updated information or insur ance card can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes of telephone calls to ob tain the information required to begin a referral, lab billing, or other billing process. We ask that patients take a moment to check their wallets or purses to make sure that they have this vital information before coming to the Health and Wellness Center so that we may serve them in a more timely manner. Love you all, Val Grout Native American Self Help provides spiritual guidance Native American Self Help (N.A.S.H.) is a State and Federal Non-Profit organization founded by people who have "been there" and have overcome their struggles. We are committed to helping ourselves and others heal and stay healthy. We are committed to helping those who wish to return to or learn their individual traditions and culture with respect, dignity and honor to ourselves, our people and our ances tors. We also help those who may not be Native American. This group is spiritually based and has the sup port and guidance of a Traditional Elder and Spiritual Leader who has been doing prison work and Alcohol Drug counseling for many years. N.A.S.H. provides an important bridge between those coming out of prison or off the streets and spiritual, tribal and treatment facilities; be tween the Western and indigenous traditions; and among peoples of all faiths. We provide important learn ing and healing experiences for people who are searching for a way to integrate their spirituality and their healing. HOW N.A.S.H. CAN HELP YOU? N.A.S.H. works effectively with parole boards, probation and parole officers, and social services in Oregon and other states. They set up work able programs with probation and parole officers as sponsors of their clients that have shown a desire to heal, and have provided statements of support and commitment to those seeking parole. We assist those wanting contact with their Tribes for information, en rollment, and connecting with El ders. We provide transportation for individuals from prison to treatment, Elders to prison facilities, and ceremonies.
