Two tribal youth conquer math Tribal members KYLE MERCIER and NIKKI NORWEST gradu ated out of the Math Learning Resource Center (LRC) last month at Grand Ronde Elementary School. Congratulations to both of them! Kyle and Nikki were recognized and presented awards at an ice cream party for their accomplishment. New Health Authority seeking members The Grand Ronde Tribe is seeking individuals for appointment to the Board of Directors of a Health Authority to be established to govern the Grand Ronde Health & Wellness Center. We are looking for experienced individu als with expertise and interest in health care organizations surrounding the Governance, Health Services Delivery and Financial Operations of clin ics. Experience with Native American Communities is a must. May 24: Pow-wow Committee meeting The next Pow-wow meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Center. 1 Saturday, May 22 at 1 p.m. Grand Ronde Elementary School All tribal graduates and their family are invited. Deadlines for all tribal graduates; awards ceremony D All tribal graduates (kindergarten through college) will be recognized for their achievements at the Honor Dinner. Graduates who would like to be acknowledged and listed on the program must call 879-2284 or 1-800-422-0232 by May 14. GED graduates from June 1, 1998 to present will also be honored if they bring in a copy of their completed test information to the Education office by May 10. D The Tribal Education Committee will conduct a review and ranking of tribal scholarship applications in early May and will notify applicants of the results by May 12.
