Housing Authority recruits Board
The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing
Authority is recruiting persons inter
ested in serving on the Board of Com-
missioners.
Three positions
will expire as of
March 28, 1999.
The term of office is three years.
These three positions are open to
Tribal members only. All three Com
missioners are expected to re-apply.
Anyone who is interested in serv
ing on the Board should have a dem
onstrated interest in housing and ex
perience in the housing field in some
capacity, such as: affordable hous
ing development, property manage
ment, residential building construc
tion, housing financing, housing
gHt
planning, or other related areas.
The Board oversees all housing
management and operations for the
Tribe, and is re
sponsible for
policy-making
decisions. The
Board meets approximately every
three weeks on Monday evenings at
6:00 p.m. at the Community Center
in Grand Ronde.
Interested applicants should send
a letter outlining their interest and

letters need to be received by March
1, 1999 to be considered.
Gaming Commission seeks applicants
The Grand Ronde Gaming Com
mission has an opening for a Com
mission member position with a term
expiring June 15, 2000.
Applicant must have four (4) years
of relevant experience and be at
least twenty-five (25) years of age.
Commissioners may not hold elective
or managerial tribal positions; and
may not be employed in, or own any
interest in, or gamble in a gaming
operation authorized by the Gam
ing Ordinance. Commissioners are
currently compensated as contract
labor at the rate of $1,200 per month
plus actual expenses incurred on
Commission business. It is esti
mated that Commissioners expend
approximately forty (40) hours per
month to fulfill their responsibilities.
Currently, the Commission meets on
the second and third Fridays of each
month. Appointment is contingent
upon successful completion of a
background investigation by the
Oregon State Police Tribal Gaming
Section.

Summer Seasonal Fire Positions
Location: McKenzie Ranger District - Willamette National Forest
Located 50 miles east of Eugene
Duration: June 13 - September 30, 1999
Salary: $7.62 - $10.00 an hour
Positions: Fire Crew - No experience needed
Engine Crew (2 positions) - CDL required
Prevention Patrol - 3 years fire experience recommended

Triage Nurse
Position : 99-07. RN license required; BSN preferred. Minimum of 5 years
nursing experience, 1 year of which involves acute care. Current CPRFirst Aid certi
fication. BLS and ACLS certification is required (or must obtain within 6 months of
employment.) Urgent Care triage skills a must. Knowledge of applied nursing prin
ciples. Knowledge of normal course of diseases anticipated complication and indi
cated therapeutic interventions.
IntakeReferral Caseworker
Position : 99-12. Required a minimum of 18 months experience in human
services or related area. Associate's Degree in human services or related field or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Indian
Child Welfare Act. First Aid and CPR certification. Valid Oregon Driver's License and
safe driving record. Good written and oral communication. Excellent networking
and interpersonal skills. Computer skills.
Administrative Assistant
Position : 98-80. Must posses 3 to 5 years experience in a progressively more
responsible secretarial or clerical position, preferably in a Public WorksFacilities set
ting handling both technical and confidential materials. High School level education
(preferably some college). Ability to type 55 wpm, proficiency in Microsoft Word,
WordPerfect, Excel, Quattro Pro, Graphics and Maintenance tracking programs.
Central Telephone Receptionist
Position : 99-13. High school diploma with a level command of spelling, gram
mar, punctuation, basic composition and algebra level math proficiency. Must posses
a minimum of 1 year up to and including 2 years of receptionist or clerical experience,
greeting people and using a multi-line telephone system to handle a wide variety and
volume of incoming calls.
Division Manager
Location: Nanitch Sahallie (Keizer, Oregon). Master's degree in counseling, psy
chology or related field preferred. Responsible experience in substance abuse treat
mentmental health which includes significant administrative and supervisory respon
sibilities. 2 years counseling experience in an adolescent treatment program, or a
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field, and 5 to 7 years of
progressively responsible experience as delineated above. Or any satisfactory combi
nation of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skill and ability
to perform the above-described duties. Must have at least two years-prior work expe
rience with Indian Tribes and communities.
Cultural Resources Specialist II
Master's degree in archaeology, anthropology, history, Native American studies or
related discipline OR Bachelor's degree and three years experience working with cul
tural resource protection issues OR any satisfactory combination of education and
experience. Must have valid Oregon Driver's License.
Head Start Teacher
This position requires an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education with 2 years
work experience. A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred. Also,
requires working knowledge in Head Start Components; excellent communication
skills, particularly listening skills; and the demonstrated ability to adapt curriculum to
meet the needs of all children including at-risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally
diverse children.
