Pageant kicked off the celebration, where Ali Holsclaw was crowned Jr. Miss Grand
Ronde, and Halona Butler was crowned Miss Tiny Tot. Last year's Grand Ronde Royalty,
Jenny Bailey, Emma Leno, Ashley Tuomi, and Miranda Provost said their farewells and thanked the
Tribe and family and friends who supported them. Saturday's activities included the traditional
parade, which was also the largest ever. Grand Marshals were Elders Rose Low and Mabel
Gaston. The afternoon Grand Entrv was huge, with traditional and fancv dancers surrounding the
t j r t
circle. More than 20 different drum groups from around Native America sang for the competi
tion dancers, while Black Lodge, the host drum performed the Honor and Flag songs. Tribal
member Roy Track was the MC. Special guests included State Representative Terry Thompson
and Congresswoman Elizabeth Furse, who represents Oregon's 1 st District.
